Staring at the World from My Home, Little Idaho

I went home to Idaho for Christmas this year.  On Christmas Eve, my dad and I went out to Kelly Park to groom the cross-country ski trails.  I snapped a couple landscapes from the snowmobile and from the skis.  On Christmas Day, I woke up to an amazing sunrise and a brutally cold wind.  Oh, and Santa found his way to Idaho and left me some camera equipment, a digital photo frame, and an iPad with a camera connection kit. Sweet!

The Big Freeze

Over the past couple of days, it's been snowing in the UK.  Schools have been canceled.  Airports have closed. Commuters have been instructed to stay home.  Back in Idaho, a couple of inches of snow and temperatures in the 20's (that's Fahrenheit) wouldn't slow anyone down.  Actually, it's the norm in the Rocky Mountains, but here in Britain, the snow and ice can be crippling.  The country is simply not prepared for this kind of weather.  Because it only snows a couple times a year, they haven't invested in snow removal supplies, equipment, resources.  I braved the temperatures and slick pavement and ventured out into Richmond to snap a few freezing photos.
